Let me just say that I am not a musician. I greatly appreciate all kinds and forms of music, but the creation of it I leave to the experts. That said, I really, really wanted to do this task.
My husband is a synth geek, so I had all the equipment at hand that I needed, but I didn't really want him to help me. One minute into a tutorial on Sonar, and I asked if I could just figure it out on my own. So that's what I did.
I only pieced together three songs as I tend to feel burdened by complication. And yet, it still got quite complicated as each time the files were exported, something went a bit haywire. I tried to clean it up the best I could.
The three audio bits:
A bit of dialogue from Wong Kar-Wai's "In the Mood for Love",
a radio broadcast from Radio Zhou Xuan in China,
and a bit of This Morn' Omina off of "The Drake Equation"
For my first try, I'd say it wasn't too bad.
