INSTRUCTIONS: INTENTIONALLY bore yourself for at least 6 hours.

What makes you bored? Describe how you know that you're bored.

What makes me bored? I would have to say that my own insistence that things are boring is what bores me. Such an outlook illustrates a painful personal denial of the fact that I, no matter how I try to get around it, create the world around me and that, if it IS (read "seems") boring, this is solely due to my own lack of fire and vigor and an inability to see things in a different light.

Put in another way, I am bored when I am boring. This, surprisingly, has little to do with the actions I am performing and more to do with what I am thinking. I can, for instance, lay on the floor all afternoon as I did today and not be bored/boring at all. But if those old, repetitive tapes begin playing in my mind...well, that's when I realize it's time to stop blaming the world around me and time to start reworking something from the inside out.

Just out of curiosity, did you actually bore yourself for six hours? Or did you just miss the first half of that task?

I didn't miss it. I actually bored myself for six hours lying on the floor doing nothing, which is really hard for me because I get really antsy. I like to nap on the floor for about 20 minutes, but six hours is a challenge.
