This strange event did not take place at work, but at a wedding reception. The wedding reception of my dear friend Krista. She--a rather free-spirited, exuberant and fearless midwife-in-training--and her husband Lowell--a shy, introverted, tidy and inspired physics professor--were married six months ago. The actual ceremony was quite small; just Krista, myself, Lowell, his friend Jim and the woman that performed the ceremony. They did not tell their families about it until days later.
Needless to say, their families were a bit...upset. Or at least felt a bit left out. So, they threw this reception last week. Krista's grandmother, Laurel, asked that Krista, who has a beautiful singing voice, sing her favorite song for her. This is what it was:
