Thank You The MGMT by Nora Sawyer
December 13th, 2007 12:38 PM
I put a sign up over the copy machine down the hall from my office, reading "Do Not duplicate. Thank you, the MGMT."
It didn't seem to cut down on people's copying at all, though the copy machine did start making a really odd sound, as if in rebellion against its own teleological complicity in the act of forbidden duplication.
As far as I can tell, though, no one rebelled and made copies of the sign.
It was up for a whole day and a half, but just now when I went to get a clearer picture, it was gone. There *has* been a lot of turnover in upper level administration lately. I guess the new boss decided the MGMT had to go.
