Customs Loves Me
I generally don't get through immigration and customs without being
held and questioned for a couple hours, as well as thoroughly
searched. Here's what I was carrying in my backpack on my return.
Inventory:
1 ShiKai shower gel
1 Tom's of Maine toothpaste
1 toothbrush
1 Tom's of Main deodorant
3 bottles with unidentified contents
1 razor
1 iPod shuffle
1 wristband with name, sex, birthdate, and barcode
3 train tickets
2 airline e-ticket boarding passes
1 customs declaration card
1 US passport
1 necklace
1 set of keys
1 UK power adapter
1 receipt for power adapter
1 convenience store receipt
1 receipt from "Tatters Alternative Clothing"
1 digital camera (not pictured)
1 camera battery charger
1 cell phone
1 wallet (fabric, hand-made, black)
1 IBM Thinkpad laptop (not pictured)
1 laptop adapter cable
1 debit card
1 MN driver's licence
1 climbing gym membership card
5 slips of paper ("we must defeat pirate monkey")
4 black t-shirts (organic cotton)
4 pair of underwear, black
1 swim suit, black
1 paperback book (_Warlock_, Oakley Hall)
1 USB cable
1 torn hotel letterhead with address written on back ("Mildreds 45 Lexington")
5 pounds 12 pence UK currency
93 dollars US currency
Observations:
bracelet appears to be from a hospital or medical facility
no sign of souvenirs other than the bracelet
unmarked bottles appear to contain shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer
laptop is running, but password protected
very few miscellaneous items aside from paper slips and necklace
no credit cards, bus passes, business cards, cardkeys, etc.
noticeable lack of travel documents such as itinerary, maps, or guidebooks
noticeable lack of pants or socks
Assessment:
preference for black and natural/organic products
possible preference not to use hotel shampoo
book suggests interest in literature
necklace might be meaningful
secured laptop suggests computer savvy, possibly with something to hide
cash, debit card, but no credit cards suggests financially cautious
Google search for "Mildreds" suggests vegetarian
similar search for "we must defeat pirate monkey" suggests surrealist
bike lock key and gym membership may indicate interest in fitness
apparently doesn't wear pants or socks
One thing I would add:
the socks I forgot to pack

What kind of ThinkPad do you have, and what does it run?
