June 3rd, 2006 4:18 PMScene: the conclusion of the fairly strange business meeting I alluded to in Work Is So Strange. My host, who I'd just met, is the self-made billionaire and private cosmonaut Mark Shuttleworth.
"Before you go, I'd like to ask you for a strange favor."
"Favor?"
"Yes, I'd like to challenge you to an arm wrestling match."
"Arm wrestling?!" (this surprises everyone present)
"Yes. It's part of a strange game and you'd be perfect for it."
"But you're like a rock climber!"
"I'm also quite sick today, so you'll probably win."
"Ah, what the hell."
The match lasted almost an entire minute and a small crowd gathered.
