Make It Work by Alex Reese

May 16th, 2008 9:36 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make it work.

For this task I have seen a lot of people just fixing things they had that were broken to make them work. I thought that this approach was fine but I wanted to make my own original thing that worked. In the end I decided to make a musical instrument out of plastic water bottles that would be played by blowing on the rim. I taped them together near the tops so that they would make an instrument and then I filled them with different amounts of water in order to tune them. By adding more water I could make higher notes. The end result was an instrument that could play fairly simple songs but it was still a fun project (it's also fun because I can drink out of my instrument).

Welcome to the game.

Looks like an interesting instrument. I'd love to hear it played.

I know, it's really too bad that I didn't have any way to document sound for this project.
