Note: Apparently you have to wait 72 hours for profile/media approval where I put the file, but I didn't want to have to write all this again, so I shall come back and edit this out once the profile is "approved" and everyone can access the music file. I was very excited to see this task because my brother is a great musician, but a less than stellar lyricist/vocalist. Not to imply that I'm better at any of those things, but I immediately saw my opportunity to add a little something I felt was missing from one of his newer songs.

I took a reading of Dylan Thomas's Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night and cut it up and overlayed it onto Caldera's track Something New. There are a few improvements I would like to make to the resulting file, but the music software I was using started acting difficult, and I decided that I would probably do more harm in trying to tweak it to my perfectionist standards. I'm really pleased by how it turned out, as both audio tracks are long standing favorites of mine, and I feel the mood of the music doesn't detract from Thomas's poem.

The song mp3 file ended up being larger than what SF0 allows for media submission. I have no idea what the limit is, but apparently 7.9MB is higher than that. To achieve this then, I created an account at http://www.mixstreet.net. Perhaps this shall encourage me to create futher "beat"-poetry. Then again, maybe the response will encourage me to never touch music again--ungrateful swine, true artists aren't appreciated until after their death anyhow.
