Object Annotation by Le Renard Rouge
March 15th, 2008 11:34 AM
Several local objects popped into my head when I first looked at this task, and they were either a.) too symbolic and easy or b.) completely meaningless. Thus I started thinking outside the box, about things that aren't widely regarded as symbols of the city or really of anything in particular. Thats when I remembered the gate that me and my close friends walk through every day, whether its to get to class, get something to eat, or go to a party. Plentiful smiles, jokes and the like have been shared under and around Murfin Gate, and it would be an utter shame should this passageway continue to be unappreciated for its significance and the joy it brings to me every single day I walk through it.
During the 3 minutes it took me to put up the note, about 12 people walked through Murfin Gate, and 10 of them stopped and read it. It was very noticable and I hope that many people pass through and read about how I truly feel about this especially wonderful portal.
Heres to you, Murfin Gate, for being the symbol of our brotherhood and the essence of what comradeship and its ensuing emotional pleasures can be. You are remembered.

May I just take a moment of your time to tell you how much I respect you for these priceless words for a priceless structure. I myself have had the honor of walking underneath that steadfast representation of unwavering human connection and looking back at those few seconds brings tears to my eyes. Bravo kind sir, bravo.
