Player Portrait by Sam

June 29th, 2008 3:05 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Paint a fellow player - we'd really prefer that you use their player photo as your model, though. Any medium/style, but let us know what you end up doing with it.

I haven't seen anybody do any vectors yet (from a quick scan of the praxis to this task) so I decided to do one of fellow player and best friend, Mike Sealey.

For those who do not know, a vector is a representation of someone or something, but cut into layers of colour. Often a lot more simple than the original picture, you can get some phenomenally detailed vectors. However, my skills are not immense, so mine is one of the most simple types you could imagine.

I only managed to take 3 screenshots in the process of making this because, to be honest, there is not a lot to show you. The original picture is the picture currently used by the player (he is a dedicated bass guitar player).

I hope you enjoy it :)

Very early stages. Just cut the left leg out.

Just to show how it is looking so far without the original image behind it.
