My Reverse Polish Notation Calculator (arguably the most famous calculator used in my high school, ever)

The Polish is, at first glance, something that disproves the theory of natural selection. However, this is not the case. Though it is not widely used today, it still survives! It is simply an endangered species, and must be protected!!! ...But I digress.
The Natural History of the Reverse Polish Notation Calculator, in 100 words or less
In the beginning, there was Aby. And Aby created Life. And Aby saw that it was good. Life began in the form of the Abacus, made in Aby's own image. However, Aby was simply a...clockmaker (or...calculatormaker?), and Aby had set in motion the chain of events that would lead to the beloved Polish. From the Abacus came a long line of other calculators, of which there is little known, as most were reconstructed from a single button found through careful archaeological study. Then, finally, the Polish as we know it today came into existence.
(A side note: the Polish has given rise to other species of calculator, more widely popular today, but that does not mean that the Polish should be forgotten! It, too has merit, and should be protected!)
