The Art of Uselessness by Kyle Westwood
April 30th, 2008 10:34 AM
Well I first saw this task and thought who would take the time to do this. Then I realised. I would. So I sat debating over what to make. I mean creating new things is something I have always liked but to make it ridiculous would be harder.
So I thought to myself what would be something that you could attach to yourself which would be useless but awesome at the same time. At the same time I was looking for the remote for my TV and thought a storage device would be good but which you could attach to yourself.
I mean pockets are all well and good but what if you need something bigger for bigger things and something stylish but also ridiculous. So this "Product" formed in my head and I knew it was the right thing to make.
So, I needed to find the right size object to use and found an empty cardboard box and so I used it and by adding a few more adjustments to the box I made a product which after a lot of time came up with a bad but the best name I could think up for the product....Store Stuff. Seriously I sat for over 45 minutes thinking of a name.
Well basically it's a storage device which you attach to your arm but the pictures and video explain it better than I can describe it.

Early development stages
Development - using paper and scissors and a printer...

The finished product. Looked a lot better than I expected.

It slides on really easily and it looks pretty good... this may just call for Dragons Den...

This will come in handy for something someday...maybe...

I remembered this being about remote controls, but I think it is still a propos.

You're not the first person I've ran into with this problem. Presumably, you've added the video using the sidebar on the proof menu. Unfortunately, this can only be used to insert pictures, and will attempt to insert any other files as pictures.
This is easily fixable. Simply use the [proof:X] format when inserting videos, but replace X with the position number of the video (starting with 1 in the top left, which is, in this case, your video, and increasing from left to right).
