Subject = marriage proposal

There's a park behind my apartment. I visit it often. There's a tree. I don't know why I am drawn to this tree, but it has something special. I wrote a note. It says:

dear tree,

So often have I enjoyed your shade, but I have never stopped to tell you how I feel.
Tree: Will you marry me?
I know this is sudden, but I can't keep my feelings silent any longer.
I know our families disagree but you and me can work it out.
I love you, tree, and I know you feel the same about me. I'm ready to put down roots.

This tree has been quite promiscuous, offering it's shade to whomever comes along, but I believe once it is married to me, it will settle down.
