This should help prepare you to think outside the box...

I have always been a fan of Chinatowns across the world. They're not just in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, but also in London, Paris, and even Egypt. The oldest Chinatown in the world is in Japan. Japan allowed only two countries to trade with them during their "closed nation" policies in the Tokugawa shogunate. The Chinese made a settlement in Nagasaki in the late 1600's. Here's a street that remains.
