Very clever, I see...

you may be your character, but your character need not be you.

So, when a task says "you", it is refering to your charecter who may or not be you.

Not being your character frees up so many fun possibilities for task completions. But it can become a drag when your human friends have to carry you around everywhere they go, just in case the perfect photo op falls into their lap.
