Perform A _____ Deed by Stone Saints

June 28th, 2006 9:45 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Perform a good deed.

Or, perform a bad deed.

I don't have a real picture for this one--I've yet to learn that I need to carry my camera with me at all times! Also, I'm not sure if this is a good deed or a bad one: I rescued a caterpillar from the bus (even though I was a little squimish about it:). It had gotten in on someone's book bag and they flicked it onto the floor, so I picked it up with a piece of paper and put it back outside when I got off the bus. It was actually a very pretty caterpillar. It had red and yellow diamonds on its sides, and whiskers, and it had some fuzzy grey humps on its back. This was a good deed to the caterpillar (he didn't get squashed by someone on the bus). But, depending on the type of caterpillar, it might have been a bad deed in the opinion of some unlucky tree...

Caterpillar

Not nearly as cute as the caterpillar on the bus...

I rescued a caterpillar last week too! I had jacked my car up to take the tire in for a repair, when i came back a brilliant little green guy had crawled into the jack hinge. I only noticed him as I was lowering the car and I heard his little scream as he started to get pinched. I removed him to some nearby milkweed, seemed to be in fine health.

Star5 spent some time resuing a caterpillar the other day too. Why are the cute little buggers so set on self-destruction?
