Confession by Dillon S.

May 2nd, 2007 5:31 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Confess to something you are ashamed of.

I dont know why this thing in particular haunts me but it does. A few years ago I was in Boston and found a wallet in a store. there was $25 in it and a few coins. This is all that I saw and did not look for an I.D. I took the money and have always felt bad about it. I know people that would not think twice about doing what i did and never think about it again. I, however, ended up donating the money to a charity a few days later. Even though I did donate it to a good cause I feel bad about the whole affair.

That is an interesting confession.
Have you ever lost a wallet?
I have lost my wallet about a million times. Once I dropped it with $200.00 out my car door at a gas station. Eventually a letter came in the mail: People had found my wallett and wanted to give it back. I called them, and went to pick up my wallet and imaging my surprise when they handed me the $200.00 as well!
Now, I would never take money out of a lost wallet. But I wonder if the money had been taken if I would treat lost wallet's differently.
I have this weird wallet-karma belief.

Interesting theory. Since this has happened I have always tuned in anything I find. I have never lost a wallet though I have lost my keys and those have been returned. So maybe your idea is correct. perhaps you should create a task titled "Prove Wallet Karma" I dunno maybe its a bad idea for a task.

Interesting how these kinds of minor lapses can really stay with a person.
