I suggest a small sidebar is added to the site, on the left side, showing which players are currently online. If it so pleases everyone, a small chatbox could be placed there as well. It doesn't add much to the game itself, just more functionality to the site.

It will give players who are bored and surfing sf0 something more to do than re-read old tasks.
It will add another layer of communication on top of comments, and perhaps it will clear up the praxis of off-topic comments.
