INSTRUCTIONS: Create a deck of playing cards featuring real-world desires, actions, people, objects, feelings, laws, or anything else. Use the deck by playing appropriate cards in appropriate situations in your real life.

i've actually been working on a TCG based on my old highschool theatre, I've made plenty of cards already, and it is rally fun pulling them out and making fun of people with them. The rules are based on MTG, but they're changed up a bit to make them more, theatre-y. Resources are divided up between equipment and location. Shows are kind of like world enchantments, or whatever you call them. It's been years since I played MTG. The creature cards are techies and actors, and you can have one of them be your "Lead", enabling a special ability on some cards, the only catch is you can only have one "Lead" at a time. Tools are artifacts. Otherwsie, it's pretty straight forward. Here is about half of the cards I've made over the past few months, I make them on whim, every now and then.

Dew is our staple beverage in the theatre. It is consumed in great quanities, and there are many secret stashes throughout the building.

Learn Your Lines!!!.jpg

Learn Your Lines!!!.jpg

My good friend Brett, learning lines. It was a big joke in our theatre, about me never learning lines. Funny thing was, after I messed up as John Procter, I was always one of the first people to have all of their lines down. so, haha at them!

Stupidity of the Naive.jpg

Stupidity of the Naive.jpg

People tend to be idiots in our theatre. That's our "company switch", it's in quotes because it's disabled now, for good reason. It's a killswitch that does nothing. haha.

Ghost Light.jpg

Ghost Light.jpg

ghost light is a ceremony we have at the end of every run of every show. Very emotional, but the perfect way to end a show.

LHS Improv Team.jpg

LHS Improv Team.jpg

Our improv team my senior year, lot's of fun. We were great, worked really well together.

Sylvan.jpg

Sylvan.jpg

Sylvan Comedy Troupe, it's Phil, Ash, and I, plus our many satillite members. Old picture, not sure when it is from.

Willy Shakes.jpg

Willy Shakes.jpg

Cause I had too, I'm a shakespeare nerd.

Duct Tape.jpg

Duct Tape.jpg

The most useful tool in the theatre. No doubt about that.

House Can.jpg

House Can.jpg

A ghetto light we made out of salvaged material, (old house can, old fresnel bulb and stuff among others.) we use it to light our back room during shows so actors and techies don't die trying to walk through our crowded prop/costume/backstage pathway room.

Yard.jpg

Our outdoor work area, semi-clean.

Fresnel.jpg

Fresnel.jpg

Always fun, hanging lights, on our grid, hanging for our lives, breaking safety codes, using a scaffolding that should never be used for anything by anyone...

Anne of Green Gables.jpg

Anne of Green Gables.jpg

Our biggest embaressment, in my oppinion.

Kiss Me, Kate!.jpg

Kiss Me, Kate!.jpg

A very fun show.

Grid Squirrel.jpg

Grid Squirrel.jpg

When we need to hang a lot of lights in a hurry, or aim lights in a hurry. We "Grid Squirrel". Our grid isn't walkable, there is only one way up there, and that is using a lift or a scaffolding. Sometimes we don't have time for that, and we just scramble and climb around up there, suspended above the stage, 20-30 feet down. It's enjoyable good fun. Dixon is our director/manager/teacher.

PAC Phantom.jpg

PAC Phantom.jpg

Our theatre is creepy haunted, it's kind of scary, some of the stuff that happens. We appease it by making a shrine every show.

Techie Bible.jpg

Another running gag...

Sex Couch.jpg

Yep.

Scaffolding.jpg

Death device numero uno.

Merciful Perciful.jpg

Merciful Perciful.jpg

Our handy sledge which was recently broken. RIP Percy...

Les Misérables Sash.jpg

Les Misérables Sash.jpg

These things are like a trophy of veteranship around our theatre, to own one, and have one given to you, is pretty much an honor.

Gaston's Rifle.jpg

Gaston's Rifle.jpg

I was prop master of Beauty and the Beast, and I was Gaston, needless to say, I feel in love with this gun. An entire skit was written about it by the other techies, making fun of it, haha.

Caution Tape.jpg

Caution Tape.jpg

Self Explanitory.

New Stage.jpg

New Stage.jpg

We got a new stage last year, we used to have hardwood, pine, noisy, dangerous, painful stage. Now we have new, good, black, safe, fun, smooth stage!

thats REALLY NICE work, but that aside, this project wasn't for SF0 and is at best only loosely related to the task at hand...

very nice though

there is a task that allows you to make a TCG

I am a bit confused on your flagging...
"Create a deck of playing cards featuring real-world desires, actions, people, objects, feelings, laws, or anything else. Use the deck by playing appropriate cards in appropriate situations in your real life."
Everything in the deck is based on real-world things.
People, objects, anything else.
Perhaps some documentation of me using the deck in real life would suffice?
Maybe the rest of the cards? I haven't counted them in a while, but it's close to 50 if I remember correctly.

I understand the part about this not originally being for sf0, but it's been an ongoing work of mine for a few months now.

there was a little more to the task than just creating a deck of playing cards, which you had already done (i.e. "not originally ... for sf0"). there's also the 2nd part of your quote "Use the deck in appropriate situations....."

"Perhaps some documentation of me using the deck in real life would suffice?" I think that was the point of the task to some degree.

I stand by my flagging.

i will agree that using non sf0 related projects to "satisfy" a certain task completion is distateful to me. But you have made some very nice cards

Vote for home made Magic cards revolving around theatre. Oddly enough, my old Deck Manager and I made a whole deck of these featuring OUR techies and OUR theatre. MTG was a way of life. Major props.
