Trick or Treat! by Twink, Rainbow Bright
August 30th, 2007 10:50 PM
Twink and I have gotten into the habit of having "Adventure Tuesdays." This usually involved swimming, museums, parks, etc. But now that she has her own character and we can be collaborators, I believe Tuesdays will turn into "Tasking Tuesdays." I gave quite a bit of thought to what our first task to conquer together might be and gave her a choice....Epic Coloring or Trick or Treating. Seeing that she was already wearing a fairy princess outfit, I was not suprised when she said, "Trick or Treating, let's play dress up!"
After quite a decision making process, she decided that she would masqerade as Ariel from the Little Mermaid and I should wear her wings and boa....making me a....fairy? That was fine with me, any excuse to wear wings is worth it in my mind. With treat bags in tow, we were on our way.
Walking down some busy streets we received quite a few sideways glances along with many smiles. One woman asked us if we were going to a party. When I simply replied with "no, we're trick or treating," she gazed at me strangely, said "good luck" and kept walking. Seeing that Twink is quite a personable gal, we stopped and spoke with many passersby. All seemed get a good laugh out of our shenanigans...I'm glad we had the opportunity to bring about some smiles.
All in all we had a great day. I hope that Tasking Tuesdays continue to be fruitful. I will admit that it's a lot of fun getting to do absolutely ridiculous things with a three year old. Hopefully the lesson of "it's ok to be creative and even a little bit strange" will stick with her for the duration!

It's just been a day of adorable tasks completions!
My slimy moustache feels very out of place here…

that's why they call them business socks…"

Wow, how lucky can a kid be to have Tasking Tuesday? That's what the world needs. Doesn't get any better than that.

Aren't all little girls fascinated with lifting their skirts? That's what skirts are for, after all?
That's adorable.
