Clever Vandalism by Riotous Dreamer
February 24th, 2008 9:26 AM / Location: 36.014923,-114.9339In further explanation of the cleverness, the words written in the bubble are "Tee hee" and the painting is of a little girl. With few artistic talents of my own unless they involve an exacto knife, the idea was to make something that anybody, including me, could have done.
Embodied in this is child-like skill and the presence of a little girl. You will not stop us, because we could be anybody, at any time, even a 4-year old with spraypaint.
None of this picture was photoshopped. The picture was taken soon after the paint was dry using a camera set to 32-second exposure at night, and the picture was "painted" with several (dying) flashlights to highlight the desired area. Would have been even better if we had flashlights that worked.
Also, what can't be seen is a letter written to the right of it in white paint. It says something along the lines of "dear ______ (can't remember, but I addressed them in such a way as I knew they would be covering it up, blah blah something about our art has once existed and it is in our hearts and maybe in yours too, so do us the honor of remembering this and all other pieces of art that are to inevitably be destroyed." I'll copy what that says the next time I'm back home.
Also, something that requires less thought: 1984.

And surely it's intents and purposes...
1) The phrase is 'intents and purposes'. Unless your purpose was particularly intense and focussed of course. Which I think you mean to use as a disclaimer - you did this but deny it in public as it is unlawful. yes?
2) If this is clever, you'll have to explain to us why. At the moment it looks like just plain old boring vandalism. Did you photoshop this? - mildly clever. Is the quote on the bubble some intricate equation? If this is so it's over my head at least.
3) Are you a sock puppet 'leaving clues'?
Ah Ben you got in there before me as I wasted precious posting time chatting to my Mum!
This proof has been flagged by 6 of your fellow players (for the benefit of all, flags are anonymous). As such, it has been automatically disapproved. Most likely, they've posted comments explaining why they're displeased. If you think you may be the victim of a bug, injustice, or a gang of Rubins, hit up the contact page.
I always thought it was "intensive porpoises".
But that's me.
I'm pretty sure it's "for all intense Aunt Turbo says".
I've never heard the "and" pronounced, and intensive makes sense enough. It's amazing how many years one can go without knowing these things...
And I'm insulted! Childish graffiti in good humor, as in anybody could have done it, even a little girl?
Oh, and, ummmmm.... sarcasm? Has anybody heard of sarcasm? Seriously? "Oh, I have no idea who could have done this!!!" wow..... Plausible deniability.
This proof was un-submitted - any comments before this one are from before the un-submit.
So, what exactly is it that makes this clever? I still don't understand, even with the more detailed documentation.
It looks like you just spray-painted graffiti on a wall... whereas the task instructions specifically say "go beyond simple graffitti".
Maybe I'm just missing something?
That's good to know :D Thank you!
And in response, this is my idea of simple graffiti:

And that little girl wasn't easy to make, lol!
Also, I consider letters to public officials sprayed onto the walls they will be painting over to be relatively clever. Other examples of such things include: "Dear government, please stop suppressing our art..." which is to the left of 99 red butterflies stenciled onto the wall, which is to the left of and facing 50 butterflies in rainbow colors painted in no particular order, which is to the left of the 1984 quote.....
However, my favorites at the moment are: a little girl painted untalentedly onto a wall, laughing, and a quote welcoming people to 1984 in an area sure to be surveilled soon enough because of its frequent graffiti in a world where our government is planning to get 200% video surveillance coverage of all locations.
Why? Because graffiti is simple enough that anybody can do it and enjoy it, and this needs to be displayed. Because we are living in an oppressive police state that is getting more powerful and scarier by the minute (look up "Silent Guardian," "Active Deterrent System," and "Pulsed-Emission-Projectile (PEP)"), and we might as well have a friendly welcome for the world.
And with the next flag, I will gracelessly resign my argument. :)
Knowing you did it, the first one's way enough for me! She's adorable (and therefore clever)! For all intensive porpoises, anyways.
Do not understand. What is clever?
