Object Annotation by Voo
June 14th, 2008 8:21 PM / Location: 44.949621,-93.29815I love this sign. I think it's really cool and original and attention-grabbing, all things that all signs should aspire to be. And since my full name has 3 Ls in it, I decided that the enormous metal L was my objet du jour.
So this is my first task that required me to go out into public and do something (aside from MN0PQ) so I had adrenaline pumping and I was almost skipping over to the the sign. I used bright yellow post-it notes to try and draw more attention to my annotation. It was around 7:45 in the morning on a weekday, so no one was around at all and it was easy to slip up and stick my notes on the L. When the post-it stickum wouldn't hold fast in the face of the blowing wind, I improvised and used my gum.
Unfortunately, the evidence is a bit blurry because my camera's battery died right as I was gearing up to take my shots, leaving me with only my shitty phone cam. The captions on the pics will tell you what the notes say.

Edited To Add: It's been several days now and one of my little post-it notes is still on the giant L. Hooray!
To The Letter L

"Longingly I look upon your lovely lateral lines and listlessly lollygag alongside your aluminum largess."
Oh Giant Metal Library Sign

"because of you I will always have a meeting place for my Russian spygame trysts. Thanks for being you."

You taught me the word largess. And to think I was about to pull a grammar-Nazi and correct you for fucking up 'largeness'. Lawl.
So, vote for increasing my vocabulary, and for picking a rather awesome object for the task.
"so I had adrenaline pumping and I was almost skipping over the the sign." -- 'to the' sign, perhaps? :: grins :: Sorry, I had to.
"...TO the sign" is what I meant, indeed! I shall fix it forthwith. I, too, am a grammar Nazi. And a capitalization and punctuation Nazi.
thats a great sign.
