“Soul of a Neo-Wannabe Hippie is one of those ephemeral, pointed pieces of art. It captures the essence of a Neo-Wannabe Hippie by displaying the tools and methods of the NWH: the clinging to socio-cultural ideas of glamor through the continued usage of animal-product laden cosmetics, the earnest introspection caused by commercial fortune cookie missives, and, of course, the thrill and sudden irrational sentimental attachment of a NWH to an exotic soda can (representing a certain lack of awareness that mass-produced is mass-produced, no matter where on Earth it is mass-produced). Truly, “Soul of a Neo-Wannabe Hippie is a frank and ironic- yet somehow tender- portrait of young, sidewardly mobile retail person.
