INSTRUCTIONS: Declare something as art. Contextualize it and critique it.

How can this not be art? Three eyes peer from a gas stove, evoking the ancient chini monster of the Pahang River . “Three-eyed Monster� conjures up associations of mythical dragons and pairs them with modern technology's fire sources. Marred by a distracting diagonal line in the bottom left-hand corner, this austere piece still manages to evoke a complex sense of connection to our past, our present, and our future by playing on our enduring anxieties. Four gas stoves out of five.
