Document Confusion by YellowBear, Rainbow Bright

July 14th, 2007 5:12 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Document the experience of confusion, in yourself or in others.

A few weeks back YellowBear and I were walking down the street in the Richmond. We were on our way to the Rockit Room to see our friend Mick's band Cold Hot Crash. Anyway, we looked up and saw this sign. We originally noticed one discrepency, and then another, and another......

Needless to say, we walked away rather confused. What are they really trying to tell us? Did the maker of this sign finish elementary school?

There is SO much wrong with this picture!

I feel like I would ruin the fun if I listed all the things that I find confusing on this sign. Please feel free to talk amongst yourselves.

Well let's see:

-the last line isn't in quotes
-there isn't a period at the end of the statement
-"your" should be "you're"
-there's no space after the comma in smile

Sorry, I'm a grammar hawk. And I don't even want to attempt to guess what the cheaper than cheaper thing means.

Maybe…

Cheaper then cheaper…
is referring to the cost they paid to have the sign made
Still makes my head spin a little when I read it. Well done

Oh, good god. My dad's lived near that sign for a decade. I lived by that sign for four years. I still walk by it every time I visit my family. Clement street is really a goldmine for this task, and a good source for excellent Chinese food and 99 cent light bulbs.

Ziggy Did Not Loose. That is an impossibility. Besides, there is no loosing in SF0, or in matters of grammer. Hey Breadman, why you buyin so many lightbulbs? **intense squinty eyed stare** Quit all that freebasin' you scoundrel!!

is it a religious sign?

nope, it's a sign for a convenience store. Although a religious sign would have been much funnier.
