...a piece of a whole that never was.
Thinking back for inspiration for this task, I remembered that, as a child, I was always playing games with my friends from "down the street". These games were regularly heavily inspired by (read: ripped off from) game shows at the time. Indeed, the amount of times we played makeshift games of Big Brother was unbelievable...
But it was these memories are what inspired me to complete this task.
When I was a child, I wished that I could grow up to be a gameshow host!
The plan was to create a Gameshow Marathon of sorts. The idea was simple. The marathon would start with a number of open-to-all Entry Rounds, the winners of which go to the Semi-Finals, the winners of which go onto the Final, the winner of which would go into a big pile of awesome and get added as a collaborator.
This eventually manifested itself as an "Ambiguous Skypecast Event", the details of which were, until the time came, unknown to all would-be participants, except of course, me.
Entry Round 1 (of, as it would turn out, 1) happened on Friday 13th June. Dok Harmon, Harry Lee and Vena Nightmare all turned up to play a game of Pass the Buck. Much fun was had, and the full show (around twenty minutes) can be found below.
A shorter, edited down version of this (around six minutes) was supposed to find its way into a regular spot on Series 2 of the Podcast, so that SF0 would be updated frequently regarding what was going on in the Marathon, and so that the full shows for the entire series would be released as one big praxis.
Unfortunately, this never happened. The first podcast of Series 2 was delayed until the 14th of July and by this point, it had been over a month since I'd collaborated with anyone on anything, and my most recent praxis was, lets face it, severely lacking in the pretty-much-anything-which-makes-a-praxis-good department.
So the project died. I've come back to submit the first part of a whole that never was, so that it doesn't go to waste, so that I can start this new era with a "clean sheet", and so I can do some last minute point whoring (which I'm sure you can all identify with)! Harry, Dok and Vena have all been added as collaborators because they were awesome for playing!
Thank you, and good night!
Much love,
Flea.
