There is a building across the street from my office that I really hadn't paid much attention to until someone started using a corner of it for an amazing art project. (A big shout-out to whoever created the incredibly cool falling, floating, dripping bubble-circle-raindrop-scape that is projected on the windows of the odd corner of the building.) Once I started looking at the building, I just couldn't stop. I want everyone to notice how beautiful it is because we're in a really dingy unattractive part of Market street so something pretty should be enjoyed more.

So I created a love letter to the Warfield Building. Here is what the letter said:
Dear Warfield Building,
You are beautiful and old and that is underappreciated on our little corner. You have an odd shape. You also have cool stone figures and adornments. I'm sorry you were recently renovated for condos, but I love you, Warfield Building! Thanks for making this block BEAUTIFUL!
xoxo

And then I braved the outside world with the help of the Deadheads for Obama and my friend Magpie.
I took a few pictures of the things I think are cool on the building, particularly the stone figures of Roman goddesses compared to the mudflap outline of sexy girls available next door at the Crazy Horse Gentlemen's Club.
When I posted the love letter a local street denizen approached me and told me "that's illegal. I could arrest you for that." Um, ok, great. As I walked away, he read the letter and came up to me as I was crossing the street to say, "That was really nice!" I think he was surprised that I had posted something positive on the street.
Alas, love is fleeting! My tape did not stick well to the grimy stone and it seemed as if the letter had fallen to the ground.

Yes the juxtaposition of the dancing ladies with what appears to be rayguns, and the stoic goddesses is quite a stunning bit of architectural planning!! Hurrah for the Warfield and it's addition to our daily grind.
