Work is So Strange by Angela Latini

April 28th, 2010 4:38 PM / Location: 39.948878,-75.16054

INSTRUCTIONS: Describe in some detail the strangest thing that happened to you at work in the past week. If you don't work, describe the strangest thing that happened to you during a leisure activity.

Working in a center city coffee shop, you see your share of weirdos, no doubt about that. One that sticks out was this homeless woman who ran immediately to the restroom as she entered the store. She must have not realized that you needed a key to enter so she made her way to the condiment bar in a huff. She then proceeded to wash her hands with milk. So when I saw this, I went over with the intentions of politely asking her to stop. By the time I got over there, she was pouring the milk into a napkin and was washing her face with it. All I could get out was: "Miss, can you please..." before she threw the container of milk at me, cursed me off, and rushed out the door. I was then left, in a state of shock, to clean up her milky mess. On a positive note, at least I didn't have to call the police that time!

This sounds like good fare for Not Always Right.
