INSTRUCTIONS: Play in a labyrinth.

I went to the zoo with my extended family this weekend to celebrate my grandfather's birthday. And to get into the Bear's Forest everyone has to go through a labyrinth full of questions about bears. When you answer them correctly, the arrow of your correct answer will point the way out of the labyrinth. If you have poor bear knowledge....well, one shudders to think what may happen...

Anyway.

We were happily answering bear questions and getting deeper into the labyrinth, when my sister suddenly turned around and said: "For your game, aren't you supposed to play in a labyrinth?" Why yes indeed!

We had to come up with a game and the rules of it right then and there, but that didn't stop us. We fearlessly went ahead and played in the labyrinth!

Did we ever come out alive without answering any questions on any bear whatsoever? Click on the pictures below to find out.

Dog can't play

Dog can't play

First we decided that the dog wouldn't be allowed to play in the labyrinth with us. Here he is in his basket with my cousin, behing wheeled out of the labyrinth by our cousin. Dogs that aren't allowed to play = not cool. This gave us a minus point in the game. The score was now -1. This motivated us to really start playing well.

Happiness!

Happiness!

This is my sister going into the labyrinth. As you can see she is very happy to start playing!

Strategy I

Strategy I

While running through the labyrinth, we came up with A Strategy for WInning this Game (ASWIG). My sister would be on one side of a labyrinth wall like so...

Strategy II

Strategy II

...and I would be on the other side of the wall (or any other wall). And then...

Strategy III

Strategy III

...we would grab hold of family members like so! (According to ASWIG law we would lose points if we grabbed strangers in the same manner.) Now that we had rules, we could commence the through-wall-grabbing of unsuspecting family members!

Aunt!

Aunt!

It is quite hard to grab a family member from one side of the wall, and then take photographic evidence by jumping up to photograph the other side of the wall. So you can't really tell what happened here without a bit of an explanation: I grabbed my aunt! One point! We now had a score of zero.

Sister

Sister

My sister then grabbed hold of me! Even though I am her family member, I was also her co-player, so this didn't alter the score. She then proceeded, however, to grab her own boyfriend through a wall. I unfortunately don't have photographic evidence of this, because she was lightening fast. He therefore didn't see it coming at all, and she made him shriek like a piglet! This gave us 5 points (ASWIG - rule on making people scream). Our score is now 5!

A clue!

A clue!

We found a clue that we were doing the right thing! This factoid on bears says that bear cubs enjoy playing. This gave us a bonus point. The score was now +6. And evidently my sister enjoys hugging bear factoids! A lot!

Oops!

Oops!

I was planning on grabby my grandmother, but evidence here shows that I accidently grabbed a stranger! We're back to +5 points.

Mother!

Mother!

Here's my mother, smiling because I caught her on camera. But she doesn't yet know...

Grabbed!

Grabbed!

She'd be grabbed! :-D (+6)

on the hunt

My sister is trying to find more family members, but it looks like all of them have answered the bear questions correctly and have escaped.

to the exit

So we head to the exit, answering bear questions as we go along.

This sign is positioned at the exit. It may well be the answer to all bears' questions?

bonus point?

bonus point?

Right at the last possible moment - right at the exit of the labyrinth - my sister goes for one last bonus point! Will she get it?

YES!!!

YES!!!

Oh yes she does! +7 ! Score!

Vote for getting your family involved - and for your sister knowing the game well enough to be able to remind you of one of the tasks.

I know :) I'm proud!

Actually, she knows it so well because I've been bugging her to sign up as well, but in true little sister style, she won't budge.

It's one of the best combinations! And to think we wouldn't even have thought playing in the labirynth if it wasn't for this game! :-)
