So working at the Alameda Parks and recreational department over the summer and a man called us on the office telephone. After about 20 seconds on the phone i had to put him on speaker. We thought he was being serious. The cost to swim for the day is 1-2$

"Thank you for calling ARPD How may i..."
Man
"Hi are there any black kids at your pool?"
Me
"Um what?
Man
"you know do you allow those black people in"
Me
"Um yes we are a public pool anyone who comes and pays their entrinc fee is allowed to enter."
Man
"Well I dont want my grandchildren around those people"
Me
"Um im sorry to hear that Sr but we allow everyone in at least once and will always allow reentry unless proven that they have done something to warrant them being banned"
Man
"What if i payed you 100$ to not let any black people in"
Me
"I cannt do that Sr that is both illegal and immoral"
Man
"Fine il pay you 100$ and the entrance fee as another 100$"
Me
"No Sr I can not accept bribes and that's a very stupid thing to say especially considering you don't know if I'm black or not"
Man
"Wait your a god damn N***er. *yelling now* I didn't serve in Vietnam to be back talked by you boy. Let me talk to your manager now you will be fired for this I'm a paying customer"
Me
"Sr you are on speaker the entire office has been listening to this since about your first question"
Man
*silence*

"Sr"
Man *still yelling*
"This is why i f**king hate N***ers always F**king trying to getting us white people in trouble but i bet your boss thinks the same as me"
My boss a very nice black woman
"Sr we are hanging up now not only have you been very raciest to my employee but also to me"
Man
"Now listen here you Bi**h"
My boss
"Sr im black"
*she hangs up rather calmly*

The whole office then couldn't stop laughing for a about an hour and for the rest of the summer he was a joke.
