Language "Encryption" by Owen (Automatic Jack

September 7th, 2006 5:15 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Using online translation tools, "encrypt" some text (that you write or find) by translating it multiple times into different languages and then back into English.

For instance, "The drive to play San Francisco Zero" translated from English to German to French to Italian to English again becomes "The order of Saint game Francisco".

I used Babelfish, and noticed something interesting - you can't get very far with that before you have to go back to English. There seem to be a lot of languages which can only translate to English or French.

I started with:
"You write the lie you'd like to be when your life looks like a book you wouldn't read."

Translated to French, then German, then back to English, I ended up with:

"They write the lie that you would like to be, if your life at a book does not resemble you read."
