I love art and many artists.
I, however, am not an artist by hand. My hands tend to shake and you can't erase paint or charcoal or even pencil enough for me to keep obsessively going back over and over again to have an image be what I see in my head.
But! I can trace. I can trace and, on a computer, I can adjust things to my liking.
So, for this task, I chose to use Photoshop and my superior tracing abilities to "paint" freakscout.

I began with hir userphoto. Charming, right? I particularly like the jaw, which is something I didn't want to lose in the portrait.
I then used the brush tool and painstakingly traced over the details of freakscout's photo and inserted a white layer behind it.

I liked it! I almost didn't do the Jack Daniels lettering, but it actually looks kind of strange and cool in outline only, so I left it.
And, finally, the final product:

Thank you! I had a lot of fun making it.
I have to say, that looks pretty good.
