Ariadne Unemployed by Togashi Ni, Happy McDeath

While in Hawaii last year, Happy McDeath and I visited the Dole plantation to see just how those crazy fruits grow. (The answer is, in these really strange prickly bushes!). Imagine our delight when we found the Worlds Largest Maze was also located at the Dole plantation! Here's an aerial shot (not taken by us), so you can get the perspective.

I was very excited about the giant maze, but Happy McDeath was skeptical. It was a hot day, and Happy McDeath has a tendency to burn easily. After begging and pleading, I convinced him to at least try the giant labyrinth. So, after getting our bearings using their handy guide map we headed over to the maze first thing!

At the entrance you can take a pencil and log sheet and attempt to visit all hidden booths within the maze. There were six or nine booths in all, and if you had the fastest time you won prizes along with the honor of having your name displayed on their board of records. With all this in mind, we plunged in head first!
We scrambled around for a bit, found 2 of the booths, and then the heat started to get to Happy McDeath. We were already waaaaay over in time (I think those other people cheat!) Since this was our vacation, and he didn't want to spend it outside in the hot blazing sun, I gave in. But first, I had to get a surround shot from the very center of the maze!

The maze was pretty cool, and kinda confusing. It took us about 5 minutes just to find the path out! We left the pineapple maze, and headed inside for fresh sorbet... (I bet you can guess what the flavor was).

is part of that maze, unless they fixed the hedges there is a hole behind checkpoint 3 that leads right to checkpoint 4, cuts about 7 min. off your time. Also varies other holes that make it easy to just walk through most of the walls :). Kinda a tight fit for anyone over 5ft tall. Yay for being short.
