First I got up and put on medieval braes and shirt
After putting on medieval braes and shirt I put on my hose... this is nothing unusual...
Next I got out the javelins... nothing odd there...
Then added sword, dagger, knife, longspear, helmet and belt... nothing strange there...
Ahhh! Now that's new- a combat shovel? Unheard of!
Ready for combat but with a very unconventional weapon!
Seems to work!
It turns out there is a very good reason that people don't use wooden shovels for war....

Jim you are a silly boy but then again in the 4 years ive known you you've never been sensible. What is the fascination with odd weapons? I think i'll just stick to steel for the time being....... well maybe permanently
It might not have worked, but at least the combat shovel LOOKED interesting.
Actually, I've got to say that one picture makes me think of lego-man duels...
So fighting with ancient weapons is normal, everyday stuff for me but I'd never trained with a wooden shovel before- alas the shovel was not designed for this and so broke....
