Golden Gate Stroll by Britt ++

INSTRUCTIONS: Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. Describe the experiential difference between the walk and a drive.

I went to the Golden Gate to meet some friends. The plan was that they would approach from the Marin side and I would come from the San Francisco side and we'd meet in the middle. It didn't quite workout that way since I got all the way to Marin county before they even started across the bridge. I didn't mind though. It was a sunny day and there were a couple of kite-boarders riding near the bridge doing some pretty awesome tricks. They would jump the board out of the water and then fly beneath the kite up to about 20' or 30' and then coast back down and keep on riding. It was amazing to see, especially from so high above, where it looked very slow and peaceful. Its hard to compare this to my experience driving across the bridge since that was at least five years ago, I was hungover and I spent the ride talking to my friends in the car and not answering calls from a girl I was seeing. I barely remember crossing the bridge at all.
