Sing Me A Story by Sarah Baker

July 13th, 2006 3:15 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Write a story using only song names. List the songs you used with their artists.

Bonus points for creating an audio file of your story, the song titles sung from their original tracks.

In a "New York Minute," "Sarah" decided that she would "Take a Ride on the Wild Side" and "Drive" a "Fast Car" on the "Highway to Hell". It was almost "The Still of the Night" and there were only a few "Lonely People" on "The Open Road". One guy driving a "Long Black Shiny Car" had a "Devil's Haircut" and looked at her like she was "Crazy". There was a "Lady in Red" standing on "the Sunny Side of the Street" who called out to her: "Don't worry, be happy!" She was no longer feeling "Born to be Wild," but rather "Feeling Groovy," so she said, "I feel like going home." Although "Nothing Really Happened," it was still "Unforgettable".

Excuse me, Ma'm. We hate to bother you, but the sign does clearly say "Write a story using only song names. List the songs you used with their artists." And while you used many fine songs in your story, you used many other words as well, that we are pretty certain aren't song titles. And we'd also greatly appreciate knowing the artists that created those songs.

Thank you for your time.
