Photographic Sentence by Bryce Anderson

June 2nd, 2006 10:09 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make a sentence out of photos you find online (or on your computer). Each photo makes up a word or concept.

First, I called my brain.

"Brain!"

"What?"

"It's time for decisive action!" My brain just stared at me quizzically. "Okay, just give me a sentence. Any sentence."

"I've got one from Faulkner. It's in the Guinness Book of World Records."

"That'll take too long. Just give me something that will give me an excuse to rummage around flickr, and procrastinate real life."

My brain sighs. He's not into this. He finds creativity tiresome. "How about, 'mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school?'"

"Catchy. That's from third grade, right?"

"Whatever. Can I go back to thinking about naked women?"

"Sure."

After that, it was just a matter of feeding flickr cookies and patting it on the head until it gave me what I wanted. As bold artistic statements go, it's sub-par. As time wasters go, it's fair. As copyright infringements go, it's probably actionable. Enjoy.
