Contents of a Character's Wallet by detour west

June 8th, 2006 12:13 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: In Jack Finney's short story, "Contents of a Dead Man's Pocket", the character - clinging to the side of a building - imagines what the world will think of him if they only have the contents of his pockets to consider.

Empty your pockets, your wallet, your purse out onto a table- tally the contents and tell us what the world would think of you, if they had only those effects to consider. Then, decide upon one thing to add to the contents of your pockets, your wallet, or your purse, which will better enunciate the truth of your person to the world.

A Purple Lighter

A reciept for Bosc pears, tomato-ROMA, Danjou Pears, Mangoes,
Bananas-YELW, Apple-RED, Pepper-GRN, and broccoli crowns;

four ones, two twenties and a ten. 7 quarters, 3 dimes one nickle one penny.

on the go chemical drink mix, a nail file, two books of stamps (one at the old price)

two drink tickets, one swizzle stick, and a brown wallet.

Someone looking at the contents of my pockets could deduce about me that I light things on fire.
You can guess I had a good week at the slots machines at the grocery store. You could guess
I drink and send letters in the snail mail. You could figure I know someone who works at a bar.
You can tell from the ADT code card, I have access to a building with an alarm. You could guess
I got a free sample of a drink mix and have been wondering who to give it to. You could think
that I buy some of my groceries in the same color order as the colors on a trafic signal.
