The Taking Tree by Dennis Carwyr
August 10th, 2010 8:02 AMI gathered ten different objects and put them in a bag, ready to take them out into the world to put them in some trees.
The first four trees were ones near where I had done other tasks. The next four were near where the Bama Belle picks up passengers. The last two went to the park where my wife and I walk our ferrets and dog.
The Items

A "You Don't Know Jack" disc (volume 2) A "Winnie The Pooh" memory game card A suction cup A sticker of a dancing chicken. A yellow highlighter. An LED light-up stick A sponge elephant. A rubber band. A black headphone cover (too dark to see). And a bird pen, not shown for some reason.
The Rubber Band

I tried shooting this up into the tree next to the old drive-through teller thing I ran through, but it wouldn't stay up there. So I wrapped it around a cut-off branch like a tourniquet.
The Bird Pen

The Bird Pen is Item #4. I put it in a tree at the base of the building I used for the Trespassing and the Highest Point tasks. (Notice there's a plant growing in the tree at this point as well.)
The Suction Cup

Here's The Suction Cup in the crotch of a tree. Kind of looks and sounds dirty, but it isn't...
The Highlighter

The sixth item I placed was The Highlighter. I had tried putting The Memory Card here, but it just fell out.
The Memory Card

Sorry the pic isn't very good, but here's The Memory Card from that Winnie The Pooh game. I placed it in a tree where there were two branches of leaves that held it like an embrace.
A Short Intermission

Right after putting the card in the tree, I saw this animal hole across a drainage ditch thing. It was kind of large.
The Game

Here's the disc for the "YDKJ V2" game. I put it in a tree in an area where kids skateboard, figuring they might get some use out of it.
The Chicken Sticker

I had problems finding a good place for The Chicken Sticker, but found a tree where people carved their initials and names in the bark. I just stuck the sticker in a crack in the wood.
The Light Stick

The final item was The Light Stick. I didn't turn it on because it was too bright to see the lights anyway, and, well, after that fiasco in Boston about the Aqua Teen Hunger Force lights, well, I didn't want people to think this mass produced toy was any danger.
