Keep Marching On by Dennis Carwyr

INSTRUCTIONS: Destroy a piece of your past.

A while back, I was studying Wicca as a possible religion I'd like to belong to. As part of it, I made some index cards that I had recently put up, having realized I would never use them (and that I hadn't looked at them in years anyway), but not quite willing to just get rid of that work.

Until now...

First thing I did was to get the pack of cards out of the storage box I had them in.
The Cards in the Wrapper

I opened the paper bag I had stored them in and found two stacks of cards: one for different traditions and one for terms.
The Two Stacks of Cards

I did a quick look through of each set, but couldn't find Technopagan anywhere in there. Oh well.
The Stack of Cards

Anyway, I am against burning any knowledge, so I tore them in half as part of the destructive method.
The Cards Torn Asunder

I took them to the recycling container (a secure box that we don't have a key for) and dropped them in.
Putting the Cards in the Recycle Bin

What will happen next is that the recycling service will come and empty the box into a truck-based shredder, and then they will be recycled into some new paper.

So, how do I feel about the whole experience? I still feel a bit sad/nervous/bad about actually getting rid of them. I grew up moving around as a military brat, so I didn't have many things I have kept throughout the years, Actually destroying something like that kind of felt a little bad, even though it is something I would probably never reference again.

though this is a piece of your past, i fail to see why it's important or why you destroyed it
