INSTRUCTIONS: Rearrage books on either your or someone else's bookshelf to tell a story, write haiku, or make a statement. The inspiration for this task is the most whimsical of artists, Nina Katchadourian. More examples there.

Some titles are hard to read in the photograph. I took some artistic licensing and added an 's' to Survivor. It reads more like a local news broadcast than a stroy. Merde is french for shit, if you weren't aware. I will list the texts, authors, and publisher as my proof. You will read all of it because you are like that.

Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson, Bantam Dell

On the Road - Jack Kerouac, The Viking Press

Less Than Zero - Bret Easton Ellis, Vintage Books

Survivor[s] - Chuck Palaniuk, Anchor Books

The Last Words of Dutch Schultz - William S. Burroughs, Viking Press

Howl - Allen Ginsberg, City Lights Books

MERDE! - Genevieve Edis, Fireside Books
