Work is So Strange by denise parsons

i'm on the 15 bus on my way to school (i don't really work...just a little, once in a while, with pay so low you might as well call it volunteer work) and the bus breaks down. we all had to get off and wait for the next 15. everyone was frowning and complaining like a bunch of teething babies... i just sat down, put on my headphones, took my camera out of my pack, put the camera to my eye and started looking around. it was a nice break. of all of the passengers, only one other guy seemed content w/ the current situation. a new 15 arrived and people were so crammed into that bus - they all looked more unhappy than they did when they were kicked off the last bus. me and happy content guy decided it wasn't worth it. i said "wouldn't it be funny if they fixed the bus and we were able to use it as our private limo?". he laughed. the mechanic showed up, fixed the bus, the driver turned on the "not in service" sign on the front of the bus and gave me and happy content guy rides to school (me) and work (him). we were completely off route, we got on the freeway and that huge accordian bus was flying, it was a blast! we made ZERO stops and then, like magic, we showed up at school and the driver dropped me off at the front door with an all day transfer so i wouldn't have to pay to get home in the eve. he smiled and drove off w/ happy content guy. i felt special for the rest of the day.

Yhesh! I second that happy ending to a public transit story!! Incredible...one question though did you arrive to school on time or perhaps even early?? hehe..
Now that is a happy ending to a public transit story if I ever heard one. How cool!
