The Callouses on Your Hands by That Guy

INSTRUCTIONS: Think of a physical mark on yourself that has a story behind it. Tell the story.

OR

Think of a physical mark on yourself, and invent a story story behind it. Tell the story.

Please, don't tell us which of these options you select.

I have no idea when this little blemish happened. I have no mental dividing line in my head that separate my life BMA (Before Mole Arrival) from AMA.

I never really worried about it or thought about it unless someone commented on it. I'd briefly remember it was there. maybe run a finger over it and say something about hiding it from the gaze of an unloving public, and then forget it again.

One day my Dad was talking about a friend of his going for the annual company-mandated physical. Apparently, his friend recounted, one of the many things they do is have a dermatologist check the bottoms of your feet.

Why the bottoms of the feet?

Apparently it's a great place for small cancers to start growing.

Now every time I see it or am reminded of it, I think 'I should really get that checked out'. Never do, though.
