Footprints on Windshields by Reed Peck-Kriss

January 22nd, 2011 10:11 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Leave a trackway that documents your locomotion on unlikely surfaces; the more permanent, the better.

(This task is dedicated to goddessofdoom).

Becca and I headed out to the pier in the small town right off of UCSB's campus, chalk in hand, to do this task. It wasn't the most eventful task, but it was fun. We walked along the underside drawing footprints of various kinds, and then had a lovely walk down the pier.

I've always loved piers at night, especially ones like this with the bright lights. From certain angles (and with my shitty night vision) it looks like an endless wooden bridge, stretching out over nothingness. And on night like this one, where for some unknown reason people are out fishing, the seem somehow much more regal, like magicians fishing off the side of this bridge, looking for dreams swimming through the void.
