June 4th, 2006 3:10 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Identify the common and latin name of a plant or tree. Post a sign on or next to it. Submit a photo of your sign to the Biome group with the names and location of the plant in the following format:

common name: redwood tree
latin name: sequoia sempervirens
location: 20th st and mission st *

*(or 223 20th st) (or Lat/Long: 37.765 / -122.454)

extra points for native plants/trees.

I am continuing with my Miner's Lettuce obsession, and decided to mark these tasty little leaves for all to know and love.

I made a small sign with my roommates sharpies, a stolen box flap, eletrical tape, and the common stick.

Took a trip to Land's End as part of a mega-task-completing adventure, and clearly labeled a particularly green patch of Miner's Lettuce for all to see.

The Text Reads:

Common Name: Miner's Lettuce
Latin/Labcoat Name: Claytonia Perforliata
Location: Directly in front of you in Land's End and across the state
SF0.org
Rich in Vitamin C and edible!
(Prevent's Scurvy)

So, if you don't know by now that Miner's Lettuce is good for when scurvy ails ya, I can't help you

After a slow-ish start, Biome's been kicking ass lately!
