The Mystery Photo by Cameron
July 11th, 2006 12:48 PM
I've wanted to do this task for a while, since so many people have done this task really, really well, I decided I had to do multiple mystery photos. It took me a while to find actual celloid photographs, but I recently discovered an old cache and picked the five most amusing/confusing/or just plain odd.
I realize in my haste to find good photos and think of interesting or creepy text for the back, I neglected to go back and read the task description. None of these photos will remain hidden for very long. In one case, this is to my benefit, as I may see the resulting confusion. Mea Culpa, I've made a mistake.
Here they are:

1) A picture of my friend, Jones, bearded and long haired, looking shocked. Framed oddly.
The back reads:

"he will tell you a joke. be sure to laugh. he has killed men for less."

Dropped alone into a US mail drop box. Hopefully, this will distract a mailman.

2) My friend Colby, smiling uncomfortably in the Dutch night.
the back reads:

"Do not Trust him. It will be the End of you."

Placed under a nearby car's windshield wiper. I waited some time to see if someone would come, but dammit, I had to go to work.

3) A photo of a canal in Amsterdam, early morning.
the back reads:

"When you begin to seek IT, IT will lead you here... do not fear."

Placed in the glass window of a bus stop, so that the text and picture are visible.

4) A picture of my firend Moe, frozen in shock. I took this pictrue by screaming and leaping at him, some three years ago.
the back reads:

"When you see him next, it will begin."

This was my favorite picture and cryptic message. I slid this into a neighbors mail slot. I hope it's confusing, wonderful and terrifying at the same time.

5) A picture of my friend Josh, looking confused and angry, in King's Cross Station, London. The picture has a large blown out thumb in the corner (mine).
the back reads:

"When he was Alive, he would have wished you Harm. Now that he is something else, he can help you."

Dropped into a co-workers mailbox. He does not know Josh, but hopefully, I will hear his confusion upon it's discovery. Will update if so.
