Language "Encryption" by Frances Sharp

July 17th, 2006 10:13 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Using online translation tools, "encrypt" some text (that you write or find) by translating it multiple times into different languages and then back into English.

For instance, "The drive to play San Francisco Zero" translated from English to German to French to Italian to English again becomes "The order of Saint game Francisco".

Taken from Wikipedia in English, "A language is a system of arbitary signals, such as voice sounds, gestures or written symbols which communicate thoughts or feelings" becomes "Une langue est un système de signaux d'arbitary, comme les sons de voix, les gestes ou les symboles écrits qui communiquent des pensées ou des sentiments" when in French, which becomes "Язык - система сигналов арбитари, как звуки голоса, жесты или письменные эмблемы, которые сообщают мысли или чувства" in Russian, which becomes "Die Sprache - das System der Signale arbitari, wie die Laute der Stimme, die Gesten oder die schriftlichen Embleme, die die Gedanken oder die Gefühle mitteilen" in German, which becomes "The language - the system of the signals arbitari, like the sounds of the voice, which gestures or the written emblems which inform of the thoughts or of the feelings" when translated back into English. It's still almost comprehensible. :)
