Public Clocks by freya gefn, Rubin Starset, avidd opolis, Heather Mooflyfoof

Can't really say I've completed this task. At first I wanted to add public clocks into the city as I thought this would be the side of the task less prone to hassle from protagonists of The Crisis. I sat on this idea for about 2 days, the conclusion was what would anybody do if they saw some Middle Eastern looking guy duct tapping an analog alarm clock to a wall? Think about it.
I've been keeping a stash of these out of order signs (see larger images) with me whenever I go out in the direction of the city. They're kept with me in the hopes of remembering the task whenever I pass by something I'd call a public clock in need of aid. This ended up not being the problem, what did become one was finding public clocks that fit in with this task.
I know of this really cool looking clock on Market Street in down town that's got a bunch of gears displayed through a glass window (what an awesome night that was), but it's such a cool clock I didn't have a problem with it.
The Muni next bus tickers found at the underground stations and some of the Metro stops sounded like a good opportunity to make use of the signs since they displayed the time once every minute or so. But being the kind of person I am who doesn't own a car, if I was to come up to a ticker only to find this sticker on it, I'd be pissed (totally punch the next person I'd see). Plus I don't want to break down the alliance HC has with Bart PA.
So about two weeks has gone by with no luck of finding something that really deserved this informative sign. I went back out to SF with Lina, we were on a mission. Walking down on Market to Castro in search of food, we ended up at The Baghdad Cafe. While waiting for our orders I noticed something grand on the other side of the street. The Market and Noe Center had an analog clock on its roof facing Market. What rocked about this clock was that it has no arms what so ever. The Center has a Radio Shack and a Tower Records plus a couple small shops on the inside. One of the fantastic things about this little strip mall is parking is on the roof and not in some separate location, more buildings need to be like this.
After finishing our food (which ended up being pretty good) and documenting the view from our seats outside the cafe, we made our way over the street and to the base of the building. Seeing this as a good time to make amazing use of these nifty signs, I planted one on the side of the building and Lina snapped a few shots (you can see her reflection in my glasses). As I said at first, I can't really say I've completed this task. The clock was pretty much dead when we arrived. Once I find more needy clocks out there, I'll be sure to update this task.
Be sure to do a close up on the images to read the text.
UPDATE 2006 05 28
Rubin: Returning to Bart after the DeathMarch V dinner, we noticed this clock. Avidd and Heather saw it to be out of place. I'll let them detail why.
Avidd: It had four faces, and yet all of them said it was the same time. Our understanding of the gravitational influence on the fabric of space/time, including the visible radiation that delivered the time information to our retinas, tells us that is is not possible for it to be the same time in four places at once.
Heather:
Update: The sticker we place on the clock at 1st and Market has been removed by vandals. The city has not yet fixed the clock.
Thanks for the bonus points and high score. Totally made my day at work.
