Trespassing by sPuNk

I am not one to normally trespass, so this task originally did not intrigue me; however, certain places do. There is a creek down near where I work. I’ve always wanted to check it out, and there is a little urban history to it as well. It’s known around here as “Catwoman’s Bridge”. (here’s a link to the urban legend: http://www.ghostvillage.com/encounters/2006/01202006.shtml )

I started my journey down to the creek. I came across some dead branches (where actually a co-worker witnessed an old man going off the road there & flipped his car…my co-worker turned around, called 911 and waited for them to get there.) When I got to the point where his car ventured off down through the woods, I smelled something putrid. I looked over the drop-off and there lay a dead deer. He had probably gotten hit by a car. For obvious, disgusting reasons, I did NOT photograph this. You will just have to take my word for it. I decided that was also NOT the route down I wanted to take, so I kept walking closer to the bridge.

I found a spot near the bridge that sloped down…I decided to take this path. Since this is on private property, it was highly grown up. Due to the season and the recently warmed up autumn weather, I was a little scared to keep going; fearing snakes, spiders, and such, but being so close to my destination, decided to say a little prayer and keep pressing through. I did make it down to see the creek, but the drop-off was so steep (straight down) I couldn’t get down to the actual water like I had planned.

I ventured around the property a little looking for anything unusual. I saw a friendly lizard sitting on a rock; but thankfully, nothing else…but some trash from the recent storming we have had. It was rather creepy though…shadows hitting off the bridge and reflections made you think something was near, but when you looked, you couldn’t see them anymore. I crossed under the bridge and ventured around for about 15 minutes…it was rather peaceful, water running smoothly. I turned to leave and noticed a huge clearing leading all the way up to the road! Leave it to me to always take the difficult path first…not only in this venture, but in life as well.

Glad you went somewhere you've been curious about.
