Arrrrrrr! Talk Like a Pirate Day was a failure for me (and for nearly everyone else I talked to)

I tried so hard... I had every intention...

But here's what happened:

Phone: Ring ring!!!!
Peter (in pirate voice): Ahoy there!
Voice: Hi, is this Peter?
Peter (still in pirate voice): Yes. This be he.
Voice: This is Karen from Axiom Recruiting. I'm calling about a position that I have open for a developer. Do you have time to speak?
Peter: Yes, Karen, of course I have time. How are you?
Peter (thinking): Oh well, maybe I'll get a job instead of the points....
Voice: Blah blah blah about a job that have nothing to do with you even though I could have figured this out if I'd read your resume before calling you.
Peter (covering the phone): Damn ye to the briney depths of hell ye scurvy-ridden, plank-walking, boney, filthy, blasted, wretched, sickening, worthless daughter of a sea turtle!
Peter (aloud): Thanks anyway.

Actually though, I felt no problem with just resetting my clock and starting at 11 am after the call was over, but then a couple hours later my roommate came in and asked me something about the movie I was watching and I didn't reply in pirate talk... and then I mumbled something to myself in my normal voice and then I got phone call which started in pirate talk but I'm pretty sure I said goodby in my normal voice.......

And by that time it was almost 7PM and I decided to just drop it....

Poo. Well, perhaps tomorrow is _MY_ TLPD.
